Tay Valley Bible Camp

As a non-profit outreach ministry of Tay Valley Evangelistic Association Inc., Tay Valley Bible Camp was established to demonstrate and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to unreached boys and girls, to build the faith of Christ's followers, and to equip those seeking to serve God, through excellence in Christian camping.

Historical Sketch:

It all began in the late fifties when founders, Rev. Norwood Brawn and his wife Jean, of Fredericton, NB, started their search for an old lumber camp to use in reaching young people for Christ.

In their search they found instead, an old deserted homestead, for sale at the time, along the Tay River. Only a porcupine ridden farm house remained standing on the 15 acre parcel of land. It was purchased, and fulfillment of the Brawn's vision of Tay Valley Bible Camp began.

The camp has continued to grow and change throughout the years. Now over fifty years later, many buildings have been added and changes in technology have taken place. Tay Valley Bible Camp is still a needed oasis in a very busy world, and the many people who pass through its gates each year appreciate the vision of Norwood and Jean Brawn.

Directions to Tay Valley Bible Camp:

Tay Valley Bible Camp is centrally located just 8 kilometers off Route 628 in Taymouth, NB. Proceed approximately 4 km on the English Settlement Road, then swing left at Tay Valley Road. Follow this road to the end. You are now at Tay Valley Bible Camp.

"Reaching Youth with the Gospel of Christ"

"Just once we pass this way. Therefore, let's attempt something so imaginative... so demanding...that when (not if) it has been accomplished, all will know it could not have been done without the aid and blessing of Almighty God." - Rev. John Lavender

Statement Of Faith

We believe... in one God, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, Who is eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe... in the Deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, His death to pay the penalty for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His exaltation at God's right hand, and His personal, imminent and premillennial return.

We believe... that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritive, living, final, eternal Word of God today, perserved by God through the Textus Receptus. We use only the King James Version for all teaching, preaching, study, and our outreach ministries of Tay Valley Evangelistic Association Inc.

We believe... that each member of the human race is fallen, sinful and lost; that the shed blood of Jesus Christ provides the only ground for forgiveness of sins and justification to all who receive Him by faith; and that only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can they become children of God.

We believe... that all who by faith receive Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, therefore children of God and eternally saved, and that the Holy Spirit dwells within every believer to enlighten, guide, and enable him to life, testimony and service.

We believe... that the Holy Spirit indwells and gives life to believers, enables them to understand and apply the Scriptures, empowers them for godly living, and equips them for service and witness.

We believe... that God answers the prayers of His people and meets their needs according to His purpose.

We believe... all believers are called into a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices and alliances.

We believe... in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved in Glory and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in Hell.

We believe... the local church is a company of believers gathered by the spirit if God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, with Christ in the midst. Also, we believe the local church will practice Baptism by immersion and the Lord's table which is open to those who love the Lord.
