Dear Camp Supporter,
Tay Valley Bible Camp is so grateful and tremendously humbled by your giving and prayer support. God has been doing great things with the young lives that have committed to Him. We want you to know that your giving and prayers have been very productive. We are continuing to see young people getting serious before God. Numbers of campers are making decisions for Christ and commitments to serve Him. Some are continuing on with formal training at Bible schools and mission schools. The staff have enjoyed the blessings of seeing the campers in their charge coming to know Christ as their personal Savior and then going home to live for Christ in their home and at school.
This past year we were able to have a retired couple come and give five weeks of their time to help at the camp. During Teen Camp we did a week of adventure camp followed by a traditional week of Teen camp. Note that during those two weeks we were pleased to have a large number of male campers. Mike Grant of New Tribes Mission did a couple of weekends of a program called Rikapuna, a three-day mission experience where participants deal with the problems of reaching people that don’t speak a known language and have no written copy of God’s word. We continue to do teen retreats on weekends and we enjoyed a very good response to these weekends with new campers coming back during the summer to get involved. These weekends are called “Recharge Weekends”.
As we look forward from here we are planning to improve the shower facilities first for the girls and then for the guys. Part of the girl’s shower building is complete, and we will have it ready for the next camp season. We also have done some repairs to the dining hall with more in the works. Water is now piped to the boy’s washroom and that had the guys giving some serious praise to God. We have started some roof upgrades and are putting metal roofing on buildings as we have manpower and time. Pray for us that we would be able to complete these things in a timely period and without a large financial burden.
This coming year we are planning to add two new events to try to be an encouragement to others. May 19 to 21 we are going to have a Young Adult Retreat, ages 18 to 35, married or single. This appears to be a serious need in our society today, and we see a huge opportunity to do something about it. Also, we have planned a Pastor and Leaders’ Retreat. Bob Dunlop has agreed to come and speak words of encouragement and share his wealth of experience with those who share the gospel today. This will be June 22 to 24th. Details can be found on the camp website www.tayvalleybiblecamp.com.
We again thank you for your support and ask you to continue to pray for the camp. Pray for the children that will be coming to camp and the staff as we prepare another season.
“Finally, brethren pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:” 2 Thessalonians 3:1
